What began as simple sketches has grown into a much-loved lifestyle brand, known for bringing the beauty of the British countryside into homes across the country. Today, that story enters a new chapter, as Sophie’s signature designs are reimagined as wallpaper, thoughtfully created in collaboration with us at No Two Houses.

A Love of Nature

Sophie Allport’s journey began with a deep appreciation for the outside world. Inspired by the quiet beauty of the British countryside, from open fields and garden blooms to wildlife and coastal scenes, Sophie started by hand-drawing designs that felt both timeless and rooted in nature. Still today, Sophie hand draws and paints each design from her country kitchen table. In those early days, a defining moment came at a Country Living Fair, where Sophie was painting sunflowers at her stand. Visitors were so drawn to her work that they began asking to buy pieces straight from the easel, even those not yet finished. It was a turning point, sparking the realisation that there was a real appetite for her designs, and inspiring her to create pieces people could take home more easily. Not long after, her first design, Busy Bees, was born, inspired by her three young sons and their fascination with insects in their country garden. That simple, joyful observation of everyday life became the foundation for what would grow into a beloved British brand. Sophie’s early illustrations quickly found their way onto textiles and homewares, where they became instantly recognisable for their delicate detail, soft colour palettes and unmistakable sense of warmth. Whether it’s a scattering of bees, a trailing floral or playful animal motifs, each design reflects Sophie’s creativity and attention to the details that make us smile.
